Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to use this website, whatever their abilities and whatever device they use.

What we have done

This website has been designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. This means, for example, that:

  • text and buttons have strong colour contrast against their backgrounds
  • links are underlined, so they do not rely on colour alone
  • every link and button has a name that screen readers can read out, including icon-only links
  • you can move around the site using a keyboard, and you can see where you are on the page
  • images have text descriptions
  • the site works on phones and tablets, and you can zoom in up to 400% without losing content

Parts of this website that may not be fully accessible

  • Some of our older advice sheets are PDF documents, which may not work well with screen readers.
  • Videos on our Poisons Guide page are provided by a third party and may not have captions.
  • Some links take you to other organisations' websites, which we do not control.
